Short Reed Goose Calls

Goose calls, decoys, layout blinds and goose hunting information

Best duck calls and goose calls

What are the best duck calls and goose calls on the market today?

Well the answer to that depends heavily on the what type of hunting you are doing, what types of sounds you want to make and your level of experience using duck calls and goose calls.

When it comes to goose hunting, I think most experts will agree that the short reed goose calls on the market today offer the widest variety of sounds and tones for hunters. They can be intimidating to use at first - so for beginners I recommend a double reed call with a very raspy sound like many of the Zink calls. Another consideration to take into account is whether you wish to use Acrylic or Wood calls. Wood calls give a much more raspy sound while the acrylic calls are considerably louder than the wood calls. With duck calls it is much the same as with goose calls, but the vocal tone and pitch are considerations that you need to make.

For me personally, I like the Rnt Goose and Duck Calls because of firm reputation and the very raspy sounds the calls make. I use cocobolo wood calls which are very effective in the field and look really good as well.
